EXPLORATION ON ANALOGY METAPHOR..

Love is like credit cards,
You can have as many as you want,
But you need to be careful,
Or else you are gone.

Love is like chili,
It gives you hot sensation in the beginning,
But after a while,
It disappears just like that

Life is like fire, soon it will end.

Pain is just like an ice-cream that melts.

Simple Mind Map of Myself

Method of creative thinking
This is a simple mind map of myself.  Its all about what i like and what i dislike and also some general information of myself. By doing this mind map, I am keep reminding myself of how hard I need to study in order to achieve my aim of life.

Method of creative thinking

In my opinion there are many ways of creative thinking. The usual method of creative thinking or the normal method that is used eversince last time would be the mind mapping method. First of all what is the usage of mind map?.. Well mind map is actually a form of brainstorming where we pour out all the ideas that are inside our head. Many people use this method of brainstorming to get a good idea that is related to their topic of discussion. Brainstorming can be done in a very creative way by using different colours for each minor tittle and also can use different arrows to represent each things.

What i have learnt from class was that, there are 2 methods of creative thinking.
  •           Logical mind mapping ; comprises of stereotypes words. Stereotype means a characteristic that  is applied for a whole group of person. It can be true and also false.
  •           Associated mind mapping ;this kind of mind map uses general random words that have no connection between the links of words.

Juxtaposition

“Juxtaposition”… What is “Juxtaposition”?.. Well, Juxtaposition can be defined as placing two variable, side by side and their contrast or similarity are shown through comparison. Many creative processes rely on juxtaposition. By juxtaposing two objects or words next to each other, human brain will automatically associate or transfer meaning. Usually ‘turning’ something familiar to something less familiar or vice-versa. OR it also can means The arrangement of two or more ideas, characters, actions, settings, phrases, or words side-by-side or in similar narrative moments for the purpose of comparison, contrast, rhetorical effect, suspense, or character development.

Novelty, Creativity, Innovation and Invention

First of all, again what is creativity??... Well creativity means the ability to create new ideas and make it to be a reality from your thoughts. As a creative student I think that not only me but most of the people outside there especially the inventors should think creatively to create something that is very useful to everyone. The new word I learnt in class was novelty. It is about the quality of being new. Meanwhile Invention is the formulation of new ideas for products or processes and on the other hand Innovation was all about the practical application of new inventions into marketable products or services. Why is this all important??... Well everyone should know about all these things if they wanted to be a good inventor. As an inventor they should create creative products which will be very useful to everyone.

WHAT IS CREATIVITY??(defining creativity)

Creativity is the ability to think up and design new inventions, produce works of art, solve problems in new ways, or develop an idea based on an original, novel, or unconventional approach.

During the class I find out that creativity is defined as the ability to create or identify ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others.

There are 3 reasons why people are motivated to be creative:
--need for novel, varied, and complex stimulation
--need to communicate ideas and values
--need to solve problems

In order to be creative, I think we need to see things in a different way. We must always see things in different angles. Being creative is not something hard. Everyone is creative. It’s just that we don’t know how to be creative.

What is creative studies??

When first I entered the class I was given a lecture by Mr Yap Sau Bin on what we would be earning in the class throughout this semester. Roughly I get to know that we would be introduced and will be provided aspects of thinking methods and creativity, in encountering and solving problems. We would also thought how to develop the ability to identify an issue or topic and from that carrying out appropriate research, analysis and idea synthesis that will result in a unique, personal statement. At the end of the semester all the students can understand the creative thinking and problem solving methods. Students will be able to understand the cultural and social aspects of design. They also would have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
